American Idol Season 9 – Atlanta Auditions (early front runners?) Vanessa Wolfe & Jermaine Sellers

As a new season starts on American Idol, we see here two of the performances that stood out from the Atlanta auditions and could be early front runners. Vanessa Wolfe sings "Wagon Wheel" by Old Crow Medicine Show followed by Jermaine Sellers doing "What If God Was One Of Us" by Joan Osborne.

Vanessa, DO NOT give up! You have got SO much talent and potential! You are unique! Don’t change a thing except get rid of the nerves. You do that by believing in yourself. You didn’t let anybody down. You are way too hard on yourself. You have not blown anything. Practice all you can, it will help with the nerves, and please come back next year. You have a special sound and the ability to steal hearts. Singing is what you were born to do. It will work out if you just believe in Vanessa.

Damnit. She butchered one of my favorite songs…
I think this is the worst season for American Idol. The singers suck. They pick terrible songs, and even when they do pick a good song, they change it so much that you can’t even recognize the song anymore. The main problem is they are young and are familiar with todays songs which aren’t very good. No soul, No tune, no meaning, nothing catchy. Thats todays music. They need to sing something from the 80′s or maybe the 90′s.
Agreed. How hard is it to pick a freakin song that’s good?
oh, i was so sad for her when she got cut. her song in hollywood week was terrible, and she needs to get over the nerves, BUT she has a unique voice that i appreciate here. hopefully, she’ll try again when/if she gets over the nerves.
